Marjorie Gass Hamler
Savannah – Marjorie Gass Hamler, 85, died Wednesday, October 16th where she had lived for the last 2 ½ years.
She was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 14, 1927, and graduated from the University of Chattanooga (now University of Tennessee at Chattanooga) with a teaching degree. She taught many years in Framingham, MA before working for the Bose Corporation in Quality Control. She retired from Bose in 1993 and relocated to Spring Hill, FL. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi, both in Massachusetts and in Florida. She loved animals, especially her beloved cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luna and Samuel Gass, her husband George Hoover Hamler, and her granddaughter, Allison Goerold.
She is survived by her daughters, Leanne Hamler Lenehan (Bob) and Lynne Hamler Goerold (Tom), by her granddaughter Sarah Goerold, and her step-grandsons, David Lenehan and Stephen Lenehan.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date in Florida, where she will be enniched with her husband at Florida National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
