Print This Obituary & CondolencesRobert Cowart Jr., age 83, of Springfield, passed away Monday, December 29th, 2014 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
A native of Collins, he was the son of Robert Cowart and Ruby Strozier Cowart. Robert was a veteran of the Air Force and followed his service in the Korean War by a Customer Service Representative at Cardinal Health for 37 years.
Preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Frank Cowart and daughter, Tammy Cowart; survivors include wife, Jemima Cowart of Springfield; son, Jeff Cowart (Lisa) of Springfield; grandson, Jonathan Cowart (Natalie) of Statesboro; granddaughter, Jessica Cowart of Forsyth; great-granddaughter: Nia Cowart; and sister, Virginia DeMuche (Bill), of Savannah.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks for remembrances to be made in Roberts honor to Gentiva Hospice and Westview Nursing Home.
Services will be held privately as a family at a later date.

He was born on June 28, 1962 in Savannah, Georgia to Alvenia Calloway and the late Eugene “Gene” Calloway. An alumnus of Savannah High School, class of 1980, and a Savannah State University Tiger, he worked as a machine operator at Tronox, Inc. for 20 years and as a forklift operator at Imperial Sugar Company for two years. He was a caring, devoted father and husband, and a close friend to many.
