Daniel L. Jackson

Daniel Loren Jackson beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away October 17, 2015. Born September 26, 1952 he was the true renaissance man. His knowledge included tile, old radios, history, munitions, camping, nature, music, psychology, medicine, old movies, mixology, parks, Mexican cooking, BBQ, Latin and Greek mythology.

His legacy is carried on by his wife of 35 years Jan, sons Seth Jackson (Niki) Yucaipa, CA, Kendall Jackson (Tiffany) Pooler, GA ,Timothy Jackson (Blair) Fayetteville, GA, grandchildren Alyssa Jackson, Connor Jackson, Katelyn Jackson, Aidan Jackson, Emma Jackson and Kallan Jackson, cousin Lucinda Hitt, mother-in-law Jessie Cowger and mother Dolores Murphy. He is pre deceased by his father, Billy Jackson.

Dan lived in Los Angeles for the first 34 years of his life then moved to Savannah, Georgia, his home. Family was important to him. He researched his family tree finding his great great great Uncle Thomas Plemmons buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery who he honored every Confederate Memorial Day.

Dan had the best sense of humor and always had a story for every occasion. He created Design Quest a tile, marble and glass design company. He was a self taught artisan whose projects can be found from Michigan to Florida and Texas. His kindness and understanding were a comfort to all that knew him. Words could never describe how much he means to us.

The memorial service will be private.

Marie Virginia Sanders Johnson

October 10, 2015 - Leave a Condolence

Marie Virginia Sanders Johnson, age 89, of Savannah, passed away Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at her residence.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert Mahlon Johnson, Sr., three children, Rose Ellen Palmer, Willie Walton Johnson, & Richard Sanders Johnson; and a sister Elizabeth she is survived by seven children, Robert Mahlon Johnson, Jr., Janet Marie Stark, Nancy Ann Kinder, John William Johnson, Garry Wayne Johnson, Beth Ann Carter, and Sandra Gale Breyer; a sister Margaret; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 18th, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at 1701 Hermit Smith Road, Apopka, Florida 32712.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 5105 Paulsen Street, Suite 225D, Savannah, Georgia 31405.

Ian Richard S. Nicholson

October 9, 2015 - 2 Condolences

Ian Richard S. Nicholson left us all to soon on Friday, October 9, 2015 in a traffic accident.

He was born in Orlando, Florida on August 2, 1983 to Alice Nicholson, who preceded him in death. He was the husband of Devon Hassan and father of Arabella Skyler Hassan, both of whom he cherished.

He is survived by a sister, Jennifer Smith of Warner Robins, Georgia, brothers, Jonathon Nicholson of Byron, Georgia, Phillip Nicholson, of Altamonte Springs, Flroida, Stephen Charette of Shelbyville, Kentucky and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by all who love him.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Families First Funeral Care. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Families First Funeral Care.

Wanda Gail Lackey

Wanda Gail Bishop Kicklighter Lackey, age 71 , of Savannah, died Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Midville, she was the youngest of 12 children born to Thomas Watson Bishop and Claudie Mae Curl Bishop. Mrs. Lackey was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. "Once you were family you are always family."

She is preceeded in death by her father and mother, her first husband Paul Kicklighter, Jr. her second husband Joseph Ansel Lackey and her daughter, Tammy Jones.

She is survived by a daughter, Grace Horton, husband Jim, of Statesboro, a daughter, Terri Benson, husband Tim of Clayton, North Carolina, a son, Trace Kicklighter, of Savannah and a daughter in law, Tina Kicklighter of Savannah, her grandchildren, Will, AJ, Tiffany, Bekah, Jessica, Tori, Dess, Alena, Jordon, and Read, six great grandchildren, a sister, Joyce Bradley and a number of other relatives and friends.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Brenda Kay Polston Graff, age 54, of Bloomingdale, died Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at her residence.

Preceded in death by her father, Spencer Lee Polston, Sr., she is survived by her mother Kay Clark Polston; her husband Robert Gary Graff, Jr.; brother, Spencer Lee Polston, Jr.; two sons, Austin Bounton and Robert Dylan Graff; three step-children, Robert Gary Graff, III, Samantha Graff Motley and Joshua Jernigan; six grandchildren plus one on the way; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, October 8th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Families First Funeral Care.
