Carl R. Jackson, PLS, age 69, of Bloomingdale, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Candler Hospital.

Born on December 6, 1951 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina to Clarence H. and Janie L. Jackson, Carl moved to Savannah in 1978. Carl was the owner of Carl R. Jackson Landsurveying, Inc. from 2005 until he retired in 2015. He was a member of the Port Wentworth Christian & Missionary Alliance Church for over thirty-five years. Carl served as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, usher and Board member at his church. He was a member of the Georgia and South Carolina Surveyor Society.
Carl enjoyed playing golf, fishing, playing the guitar, singing and writing his own songs.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tony and Stanley Jackson, he is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Jerrie Jackson; children, Brian Jackson of Holly Hill, South Carolina and Amanda (Michael) Lowery of Port Wentworth; grandchildren, Brandi and Brandon (CJ) Jackson, StormieRae Jackson and Hunter Lowery; three great-grandchildren; siblings, The Reverend Angel Christ (Dale), Mitchell Jackson of Holly Hill, South Carolina, Timothy Jackson (Dannie Sue) of Gaston, South Carolina, and The Reverend Randy Jackson (Rachel) of Monroe, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Port Wentworth Alliance Church with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 am. Entombment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, West.

Raymond Exley Seckinger passed away on October 23, 2021.

He is survived by, sons David Seckinger, Fred Seckinger (Denise Seckinger); grandchildren, Jessica West (Joshua West), Jasper Sears and Ashley Hurlbert; four great-grandchildren & one great-grandson on the way; and several Cousins. He is preceded in death by wife, Susan Seckinger.

Raymond was retired from Byrd’s Furniture Company where he was employed many years. He and his wife enjoyed attending camp meetings at the Effingham County Methodist Campground in Springfield, Georgia. He was a descendant of the Salzburger Society. He attended college at Young Harris College.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. He was also a Beekeeper.

Memorial Service will be held on November 8, 2021, at 438 Kessler Loop, Guyton, Georgia 31312 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Danny Newsom, 56, passed away on October 14, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Danny was born in Toombs County, grew up in Effingham County, but lived most of his life in Savannah. He was an avid coin collector and loved working on his vehicles. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Danny loved his family deeply and was always there for them. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Stapleton, and his step mother, Ann Stapleton. He is survived by his wife Barbara Newsom, his son Danny Newsom II (Mindy), his 3 daughters Rhonda Aiken (Sean), Wanda Viles (Shane), Tonya Sanderson (Raymond) and 9 grand children. Survived also by his sister, Sherice Stapleton Wayman (Steve), his 3 brothers, Michael Newsom (Jo), Ken Clifton (Becki), Jeromy Clifton (Linda), his father Joey Stapleton and many nieces and nephews.

A Private Family Viewing will be held Monday, October 18, 2:00 p.m. at Families First on Dean Forest Rd, Savannah, Georgia.
Celebration of life to be held at a later date.
