Hugo Hendrix died at the age of 29 after a short illness.

He is survived by his father, Kenneth Hendrix, his mother April Hendrix Kammerud (Betsy), and his brother, John Michael Hendrix. He is also survived by his grandparents, Mary and Lloye Wynn, and Anne Hendrix. He will be missed by many others including his partner Niko Belle and special friend Aura Belle as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Hugo’s name to Friends of Oatland Island or the First City Pride Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories 1 daughter & 4 sons.

Nancy Stephens Hunter, age 75, died in Savannah on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.

Nancy was born on December 9, 1946, in Statesboro, Georgia to the late W.H. and Pearl Olliff Stephens. She graduated from Emmanuel County Institute where she participated in the marching band. She attended Georgia Southern College. She then settled in Sylvania, Georgia where she raised her family and worked as a paraprofessional in the Screven County Public School system. She relocated to Savannah and worked with the Savannah-Chatham Public School system until her retirement.

Nancy is survived by her son, Rufus Miles Hunter, III of Savannah; her sisters, Julia Toole Missroon and Susan Stephens Foley, both of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Nancy enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, attending sporting events, and playing card games. Nancy was fun and energetic and had a great sense of humor. She was friendly and outgoing. She loved working with children, and often volunteered her time to provide access to books, food, and medical care to children in need.

Interment and a memorial service will be planned for a later date in Statesboro, Georgia. Remembrances can be made to the Screven Jenkins Regional Library Bookmobile, or the Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center.

Beverly Ann Williams Thompson was born on December 29, 1944, in Kingston, North Carolina to late Benny Williams and Blanche B Grady Rouse. She was received into eternal peace on January 14, 2022. Beverly Ann (Puddin) married Freddie L Thompson (Ricky) on November 25, 1965. Ricky and Puddin have five children.

 

Beverly Ann is survived by one son: Tyrone Thompson; four daughters, LaRon Thompson Gordon, Nikki Thompson Robinson, Sharma Thompson Pinkney, Tawanna J Seals (Gregory). Twenty Grandchildren: Toni, Beverly, Marcus, Marc, Kevin, Ardinia, Micole, Ashley, Thaddeus, Tyler, Juan III (Trey), Nikka, Christian, Juwel, Nicholas, Cory, Carmen, Collin and Nineteen Great Grandchildren. Beverly Ann was preceded in death by two grandchildren Javis and Theodore.

 

She was the oldest of six children: Linda, Nadeane, Lonnietta, Germaine, and Lonnie Jr. Although she lived and retired in Savannah, Georgia. She cherished her summer trips with The Jazzy Ladies (her sisters). Beverly Ann would often visit or host cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from all parts of the U.S.

 

Beverly Ann enjoyed being a military spouse and traveling around the world. She worked in school food service where she did more than just feed the students at her school, she mentored them. Everyone was welcome in her home, and she never met a stranger.

 

Beverly Ann loved butterflies, the beach, wine, and dancing on the tables. She left the gift of Love to her husband, children, family, and many that she claimed as family.

In the words of Maya Angelou “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” We all felt her love. She will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Families First Funeral Care with Funeral Services to be held at 12:00 PM. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, West.

Beverly “Meme” Strickland (Funk) was born on February 6, 1948 in St Augustine, Florida to Margaret Jean “Peggy” and Fabien.

Beverly passed away peaceful in her daughter’s home, on January 14, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was the matriarch of the family and will be sorely missed.

Beverly leaves behind her only son Robert Keith Hankla (Teri), her darling daughters, Tracy Lynn Hodges (Jason), Heather Jean Rennells (Jeremy), Regina Michelle Hill (Alexis), all her grand kids and great grands that she truly loved.

There will be a private celebration of life at a future date.

Thank you to the Rennells household for opening your home to our mom and taking care of her in her final months.
