Shirley Rahn Smith, age 77, passed away Monday, May 23, after a long battle with brain cancer.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.W. Smith; son, Kendall Smith, wife Regina & grandson Dalton Brown; and daughter, Wilhemina Smith Fry.

Private funeral and burial at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, West.

Mrs. Patsy L Wilson was born the oldest of three children on May 26,1948 to the late Mr. Calvin C. Jones, Mr. Leroy & Mrs. Agnes Ervin.

On Sunday May 15,2022 God transitioned her from labor to reward at Candler Hospital where she received her Heavenly wings.

Patsy was educated in the Chatham County School system. She received her early education in private schools at St. Pius. She later attended Tompkins High School and graduated in the class of 1966.

Patsy was a loving person with an affectionate smile who loved to help others. She was an avid individual that enjoyed showing talent in hospitality and with young children. She retired after working tirelessly at the Economic Opportunity Authority as a Head Start Teacher.

Patsy gave her life to the Lord at an early age and joined First Union Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Rev. Pete Broxton. She served as a member of the Usher Board, a Sunday School Teacher and also aided in the food service area. She later rededicated her life to serving God and reunited with First Union Missionary Baptist Church under the present Minister – Pastor Vernon Galloway.

In Patsy’s adult life she married Sampson Brown and to this union they had three children Morris, Carlos and Ashley. Later in life on April 20, 2007, she found love again and married Robert Wilson and they were blessed to have a blended family where they shared lots of love among the family.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Calvin C. Jones, Mr. Leroy & Mrs. Agnes Ervin, her sister Margaret A. Brown and one of her daughters Ms. Giselle Davis.
She will be missed by all who respected and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her loving and devoted husband Robert Wilson, her devoted daughter Ashley Gamble, daughters Stephanie Nelson and Tammie Mosley and one adopted daughter Angela Albright, her sons Morris Morgan Jr, Carlos Brown, David Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Ryan Washington, Pastor Robert “Chip” (Denise) Brown, and her Special Son Dwayne Gamble Sr. Two Nephews Reginald Parrish and Vincent A Brown, Three nieces Jovonna Parrish, Billie Jean Murray (Justin) and Brittany Barnes, Two Sisters Barbara Lynn Lark and Edna P. Brown (Roger) and her grandchildren “Nana Babies” Kennedy Duncan, Dwayne Gamble Jr. and Zachary Gamble and a host of other relatives, close friends and family.

Bobby Harold Harmon (Okie Bob), lost his battle with cancer at the age of 62 on May 16th, 2022.

Born in Ohio June of 1959, but raised in Poteau, Oklahoma by his adopted parents Warren and Mildred Harmon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving 10 years as an aircraft mechanic. He followed that career into a 25 year tenure at Gulfstream Aerospace.

He is survived by his wife Candy of 35 years, his sons Blake and Shane, daughter-in-law Savannah, grandson Grayson, brother Don and sisters Janiece, Courtney and Kelly.

He didn’t want people to be burdened by the travel, so his wish was to not have a funeral. Memorial service to be determined at a later date.

Our beloved Mom, Grandma, Gigi, and Boo Boo, Edith K. Shiver, 86 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 10 after battling many years with cancer.

Edith was born in Cadwell, Georgia on August 22, 1935, to Menzo and LouOla Knight. She was predeceased by her husband Crawford H. Shiver, Sr., her father and mother Menzo and LouOla Knight, her two brothers, William Knight, Kenneth Knight and her sister, Diras Mullis.

She was an active member of Morningside Baptist Church and was a stay-at-home mom for many years until she started a career in real estate with Fred Williams Realty. She went on to be the broker/owner of Griner Gallery of Homes and Deck Venture Home Builders. Following her real estate career, Edith was the co-owner of Petway Cleaners with her husband Crawford.

Throughout her life she lived for others, always opening up her home to family and friends for get-togethers. She loved to cook and serve others. Her Christmas breakfast was second to none and was open to anyone who wanted to attend. If you ever wanted to treat her to something she loved, all you had to do was bring her a bushel of blue crabs. She was a master crab eater. She could pick and eat crab faster than just about anyone around.

Edith not only cherished her family and stepfamily, she also endeared herself to all who were privileged to become part of her extended family. Her generous spirit knew no bounds. Edith loved nothing more than being surrounded by friends and family.

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her by two daughters, Teresa (Gary) Bell, Pamela (James) Leavy, two sons, Vernon Griner and Tossie (Alisa) Griner, Jr., three stepchildren Crawford (Janice) Shiver, Jr., Ed (Suzanna) Shiver and Nan (Kevin) Wittendorf, twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Grace (Louie) Rich, Lanell (John) Richardson, Patricia Davis and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on May 21, 2022 at the Whitefield Chapel, 9620 Ferguson Avenue, Savannah, GA.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
