Martha Ann Greenhoe Kaufman

Martha Ann Greenhoe Kaufman, 71, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022.

Born in Sheridan, Michigan, Martha was the daughter of the late Austin and Lena Greenhoe. Martha graduated from Carson City High School, and earned her bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Manchester College. After her marriage to Robert Kaufman in 1972, the couple volunteered in Kenya, East Africa for three years. Returning to Kalamazoo Michigan, she earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Western Michigan University. She worked in adoptions for five years before returning to a life of volunteer work. She and her husband moved to Culebra, Puerto Rico, with Brethren Volunteer Service where she helped the community found a center to address the needs of special needs children on the small isolated island, an organization that continues to provide services today. After 20 years her family moved to Savannah Georgia. There she worked in foster care, acted as a certified interpreter in the Judicial system, and provided classes in Domestic Violence for Spanish speakers until her death.

Surviving are her husband Robert Kaufman, son Jesse Kaufman, brother Bruce Greenhoe, sister Brenda Greenhoe, nephews Brandon (Teri) Greenhoe and Jacob Greenhoe, niece Rachael (Nishan) Greenhoe Pethiyagoda, and granddaughter Savana Jessilyn Kaufman.

A memorial service is 3pm Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Families First Funeral Care at 1328 Dean Forest Road, Savannah Georgia, with calling hours from 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Joan Kidd

Joan A. Kidd, (Joanie) 60, of Rincon GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

She was born on February 19, 1962 In Newark Ohio.

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony held at a later place and time to be determined.

Joanie was most known in Licking County for her success at Mathews Ford where she worked
as a top sales consultant. Joanie earned too many awards to mention but perhaps her greatest
achievements at Mathews were her long lasting friendships that she made with her customers
and co-workers. Joanie loved and cherished her time at Mathews up until she retired in 2015.
No Matter the success Joanie had in her career, it was her personal life that she cherished
most. Joanie and Robert (Bob) met in Newark Ohio and it was an instant connection that has
stood the true test of time. Bob and Joanie would have celebrated their 45th wedding
anniversary on September 11, 2022. They shared a very deep bond and love that few are lucky
enough to ever have.

Joanie was in her element at the beach and absolutely loved to go on cruises. Every genre of
music, every song that touched her heart and soul was her favorite song. She enjoyed the
special moments like coffee time, shopping and getting her nails done with her family and
friends. She loved the outdoors and camping with family and tending to her plants. Joan was
an extremely talented interior decorator and her home was always inviting and comfortable.
She never forgot an occasion and she was the best gift giver.

Joan was an avid Buckeye fan. She shared that love with her family and friends. She will be
looking over Ryan Day’s playbook and make sure we have a great season this year and years
to come! O-H!!

Joanie is survived by her mother Carol Lou Oliver (Hupp) husband Bob; son Chris (Dana) Kidd;
daughter Michelle (Missy) Kidd (Mickey Swango); Eight Grandchildren Paige(James) Galloway,
Landon Mathis, Madison Hall, Sidney Kidd, Ethan Kidd, Callen Swango, Connor Kidd, Brittany,
Smith (Williamson) and Caitlyn Swango. Siblings Lawrence (Phyllis) Oliver, Janet (James)
Miller, Jackie (Bruce) Umstott, Donnie (Kim) Jurden, Jerry Jurden.

She is preceded in death by her father Lawrence Oliver; her siblings Joyce Wolfe (Oliver), Eddie
Oliver and her sister-in-law Kathy Kirkbride.

Arrangements are entrusted to Families First Funeral Care of Savannah, Georgia.

Willa Mae Reynolds-Horton

Willa Mae Reynolds-Horton, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 in Pooler, Georgia.

Willa was born on June 27th, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Beulah Goins and Rufus Reynolds. She was Registered Nurse for 45 years. She loved to help others and could feed an army.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah Goins and Rufus Reynolds, her son Mark Kevin Boyd, and her grandson Ron Lewis.

She is survived by her husband Ivey Dan Horton; her children Kenneth Boyd (Valerie) of Lake Helen, Florida and Ruthanne Bayles of Guyton, GA, her four grandchildren, Jason Bayles (Amy) of Marietta, Georgia, Jocelyn Lewis of West Palm Beach, Florida, Warren Boyd (Dani) of Spokane Valley, Washington, Gretchen Lindsey (James) of Deland, Florida, eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and two sisters Nan Shannon (Jack) and Danita Hopper Stoner.

Memorial will be at 4:00 today (July 30, 2022)at Living Faith Church of God, 3789 Noel C Conaway Rd, Guyton, Georgia.

Morris Noel

July 29, 2022 - 1 Condolence

Morris Earl Noel, 82, of Rincon, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

He was born and raised in Pike County and lived in Holmes County, Ohio, before moving to Rincon, Georgia in 1983. He was a member of Rincon Baptist Temple.

He started singing in gospel quartets at the age of 17. He sang Bass with a variety of quartets throughout the country over a fifty year span. Morris loved Southern Gospel Quartet music and had a deep, smooth Bass voice.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Elmer and Mildred Henson Noel; and his brother, Shelby Noel.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 61 years, Sharon Heller Noel; children, Penny Thomas (Loren), Mark Noel (Jeannie), and Steven Ervin (Sandra); grandchildren, David Thomas and Timothy Thomas (Karoline); sister, Darlene Ervin; brother, Robert Noel (Jodi); and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Rincon Baptist Temple, 305 Weisenbaker Road, Rincon, GA. A funeral will be held at 12:00 pm at the church. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Rincon Baptist Temple, PO Box 252, Rincon, GA 31326.

Jimmy Lee

Jimmy Lee, 68, of Savannah, Ga, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

He was born on February 2nd, 1954 to Robert F. Lee Jr. and Betty Lee in Savannah, Ga. He was a carpenter for 50 years and was a member of the carpenters union. Throughout his career he was responsible for the restoration and remodeling of many historic homes in downtown Savannah and he was very proud of his work. He enjoyed fishing and boating in his free time. He was a talented musician and composed a song in his late brother, Larry’s memory. He was an animal lover and was especially devoted to his cat.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Lee Jr., and his brother Larry Lee.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Joseph Lee and Joseph’s wife Sarai Garcia; mother, Betty Lee; and siblings, Jerry Lee and Brenda Yancey; and numerous other relatives.

The memorial will be held privately.
