Amelia “Amy” Riley Doty, was born May 28, 1944, in Laurel, Maryland and passed away on September 21, 2021 in Savannah, Georgia.

Amy was a virtuous woman – a Proverbs 31 woman. She loved and served the Lord with all her heart. Amy loved traveling with her husband, Al and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her church.

She had a love for art and creating and has been a member of numerous art associations. Her talent as an artist can be seen in her early paintings and later in her crafts and elaborate beaded jewelry.

Driven to serve, she received her bachelors and masters degree in Biblical studies at Kingsway University and Theological Seminary in recent years.

“A Diamond Is Forever, Isn’t It? What the Bible says about marriage, divorce, and remarriage” was her syllabus. This was recently published to help others avoid the rocky road of a broken marriage and to lead them toward true Christian freedom and happiness. This was her personal ministry. She was an adjunct instructor at International Bible Christian Fellowship Seminary in Savannah, Georgia.

Amy is survived by her husband, Alvin Doty; her sister, Ruth Seibert, children: Theresa and her husband James, JT Moir and his wife Teresa, Laura Hesse, and Marie Buck; grandchildren: Jenna, Jordan, Jessica, Alyssa, Kyle, Brandon, McKenzie, Kayla, and Ariana; great grandchildren: Amy and Ava. She had cherished nieces and nephews as well: Artie, Katrina, Joseph, Michael, Rhonda, Cathy and Mary.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Frederick Riley, her mother, Louise Rogers, and her sister, Eleanor Gabriel.

Amy Riley Doty will be missed dearly.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Sanctuary of Savannah, 8912 Whitefield Avenue, Savannah with Funeral Services to follow at 7:00 PM. Interment will be on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 9:30 AM in Bonaventure Cemetery.
