My second mom through all my teenage years, and into adulthood, and one of the most amazing individuals I have known. She was one tough, loving, fascinating, intelligent, funny, and incredibly talented mom and I will forever be grateful to have had her in my life, particularly when as a teenager, we (her daughter Laura and I ) needed her guidance and tough mom love the most. My deepest condolences to the entire Oake family for their loss!

Oh how I miss Mrs Barbara! I met her at the gym ( if she wasn’t there I was checking on her) & we found out we shared a special bond ~ our Catholic Faith! Mrs Barbara loved people & she loved her family. I enjoyed hearing her stories over lunch along with Mrs Pat Goodday. Mrs Barbara was loving, smart & one tough lady…I know the reunion with her husband was incredible… love & sympathy to all the Oake Family ❣️

At this time I wish to offer my heartfelt sympathy to the entire Oake family; especially to my daughter in-law Susan, her sister Laura, and brothers Bill, Michael, and Roy.

May your cherished memories of precious time spent with your mother enable you to carry her with you throughout your lifetime.

Prayers have been offered to lift you up during your time of sorrow and grieving. May your special stories and offerings you will share with one another bring much joy to your hearts; for that is the one true legacy parents strive to leave with their children.

My love to all,
JoAnne

Today as I struggled with trying to get the live stream of my friends funeral to work, I glanced up at my window sill and there was a bird watching me. I waved at the Bird as it slowly walked away and then took flight. Goodbye my dear Barbara and thank you for our last goodbye.
Special thoughts and prayers to the wonderful Oake family. God bless you all.

Condolence from Milca (Mimi) Lake on August 3rd, 2020 12:56 pm

Just watched the video of Barbara’s memorial service (had connection problems earlier). It was a very moving mass for my dear friend. Hearing Michael’s eulogy reminded me of the great experiences Barbara and I shared at Lucent. I miss you my friend. May God grant Barbara eternal rest. Sending prayers of comfort and deepest sympathy to the Oake family. Love, Milca & Dennis ✝️????????

Condolence from Susan Ephraim on September 10th, 2021 10:50 pm

Hi Milka. You know I think of my mother on a daily basis, but I truly miss her more than words can say. I just had to let you know, I have all, and I mean ALL of her pictures, and one of my favorites is one of the 2 of you on top of a mountain in a frame that says friends. Thought you should know.
