Bobby Gene Carter II of Guyton Ga passed away peacefully at his residence after a brief illness on August 27, 2026. Originally from Orlando FL, Bobby had spent a majority of his life in the Savannah GA area.
Bobby had a big personality and his heart was even bigger. He loved God, his family and The Florida Gators! He had an incredible sense of humor and an extremely contagious laugh. Bobby never met a stranger and would draw a crowd anywhere he went. Bobby absolutely loved music and if he wasn’t listening to a song, he was singing one.
Bobby was proceeded in death by his brother, Stephen Michael Carter; his father, Mark Steven Carter; paternal grandparents, Bobby Gene Carter and Charlotte Rose Carter (affectionally known as 26 & Zero who played a pivotal role in raising him and his brothers); his maternal grandmother, Lois Long Hawkins; and one uncle, Michael Carter.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Tara Dionne of Guyton GA; his mother, Susan Ghassemzadeh; one brother, John Carter; two nephews, John Carter and William Lee;
three nieces Destiny, Cecily and Isabella Carter all of Savannah GA; and one aunt, Vickie Schaffhauser of Midway Ga.
He will be buried in a private burial in Greenwich Cemetery with a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please donate to his burial fund at the funeral home or to Palmetto Animal league in Ridgeland South Carolina.

My condolences to Bobby’s family and friends. I met Bobby on Wilmington Island 15 years ago. He was always upbeat and was a good guy to be around. I’m a Georgia Bulldogs fan, so you can imagine how much trash he talked during the annual game. He’s definitely going to be missed.
