I’m so sorry to hear of Calvin’s passing. He was married to my mother when I was very young, I have very fond memories of our time together. He was an awesome stepdad to me and my brother. He loved us very much. Even after they divorced, he would always keep in touch with us as children. Unfortunately we drifted apart and I have not spoken to him in a long time. But I will always remember the good times we had, especially when the four of us plus my uncle piled up in his purple Gremlin and went to Disney World. My prayers go out to his sister Mavis and the rest of his family

R.i.p cousin, I’m glad to have known you. Say hi to everyone for me.

I met Calvin online through the Effingham County Genealogy FB Group. When we made a trip there to do family research, he took his time to meet us for breakfast. He seemed to think he and my husband may be distant cousins through the Morgan family. I often would respond on his Weekly Month Prayer List Request on his FB page. God must have needed another angel for this Christmas and he took Calvin. God Bless you Calvin.

So much could be said or left unsaid about uncle Calvin. He could be a right pain but also sneak you a pogo stick out the house even if your mom said no. Right, wrong, or indifferent so far as his many opinions may have been his heart was always in a place of justified love. He technically disagreed with half of my life, yet still always understood why I made my choices and loved me no less for them. I forever will hold him dear to my heart and hope that peace now surrounds him. His life was a battle for far too long.

I am sorry to hear about Calvin. I called him after a few weeks after our 50th graduation celebration and told I had wanted to go but my dr advised against. I asked him to pray for me and I feel in my heart he did. May God reach down and give them peace and understanding. RIP Calvin
