Carol L. Thompson, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was born at Magee Women’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 17th, 1948 to Dorothy Luce Thompson and William George Thompson. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. She married William Author Jackey. She worked for the Jacksonville Florida School board as a Typist Clerk. She came to Savannah Georgia in 1990 and started working for Live Oak Public Library in November 1991 and retired on August 29th. 2014.  She had a long and full life, surrounded by people who loved and cared about her.

Carol is a true warrior she had battled five bouts triple negative breast cancer since 2007. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reading, watching Jeopardy, spending time with her dog Chico and staying active with water aerobics at the YMCA. She is survived by her brother, Robert Thompson, her two sons; Kevin and Christopher Jackey, their wives Karen and Elizabeth Jackey, and her granddaughters Shelby and Kayla. Family, friends, and others whose lives Carol touched are invited to Families First Funeral Care, 1328 Dean Forest Rd., Savannah, Georgia. 31405 for the viewing and visitation at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 followed by the funeral service at 1 pm.

The burial will be at Westside Memorial Gardens, Adams Road, Bloomingdale, Georgia 31302.

I remember Carol making videos with Shelby and Kayla singing and dancing .She loved her grandchildren and they loved their grammie .She loved her sons to she would have moved the earth for them if she could have .Carol touched alot of lives she is going to be missed alot.Rest in peace Carol.

I enjoyed the many years Carol and I worked and spent together. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She always talked about her children and grandchildren,she loved them very much. She is truly loved and will be
missed by many. Rest in peace until we meet again.
