Catherine Joy Cila, known as “Casey”, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Savannah, GA. She was 61 years old.
Casey was born on February 17, 1963 in Rockhill, South Carolina to parents Sebastian and Joy Eileen Cila. She graduated high school in Adams-Friendship, WI in 1981 and spent many years as a waitress in the area before starting a family. Casey had a creative spirit and liked to do things her own way, often putting her own personal twist on family recipes and traditions. Casey enjoyed gardening, especially when that meant eating fresh vegetables straight off the vine. In recent years, Casey took great delight in the Magnolia tree in her front yard. She loved her children Marlee and Lucas “to the moon and back”, as she would say. Casey had many beloved pets throughout her life – cats, dogs, rabbits, most notably, her little Yorkshire Terriers, “Bella” and “Guido”. Casey was not afraid to be herself; she had been known to break out into song or dance regardless of who was watching.
Casey is preceded in death by both of her parents.
Casey is survived by her two children, Marlee (Beckwith) Burrison and Lucas Beckwith; her siblings Anthony, Jeffrey, Eric, Laura, Michelle, and Virginia; and many beloved nieces and nephews that she absolutely adored.
Services will be held at a later time in Wisconsin.
