Charles L. Mobley, Jr., 73, passed into the arms of Jesus at home in the early morning hours of Friday, June 16, 2023 with his wife Jeanette at his side.
Until illness robbed his abilities, Charlie was for many years a licensed electrician and General
Contractor, but the times he enjoyed the most, were with his family along with his hunting and fishing buddies, who knew him as “Catfish”. He never missed an opening deer or turkey season.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Jeanette, and his son Jason (wife Jamie) Dykes, and granddaughter Kaitlyn. He also leaves behind a host of Mobley “cousins” whose Family Reunion he rarely missed.
He served his country honorably in the US Navy aboard the destroyer USS Massey during the Vietnam War.
Charlie is pre-deceased by his parents Charles Mobley Sr. and Nell Mobley and three sisters, Susan Mobley Waters, Nancy Mobley Edmunds, and Dawn Mobley Letson.
The family also extends appreciation to Georgia Hospice for excellent and compassionate care for Charlie during the final phase of his illness.
A special thanks to nurses and caregivers Betty, Darlene, and Jazz.
In honor of Charlie’s life, a memorial service will be held on August 12, 2023 at 11:00am at the Midway First Baptist Church at 10471 East Oglethorpe Hwy Midway, GA 31320.

Charlie was a good man and neighbor. Always stopped to talk. Great humour. We will miss him.

Charlie always said “When in doubt set the hook!” He set the hook 27 years ago and never looked back. He is missed much, but he is fishing those waters that only few get to experience!! God Bless!!
