In Loving Memory of David Kevin Goodno (July 20, 1957 – May 12, 2023)

David Kevin Goodno, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 12, 2023. He was
surrounded by his family as he peacefully transitioned to eternal rest.

David was born on July 20, 1957, to the late George Lincoln Goodno and Juanita Gotch in Kansas City,
Missouri. As the youngest of five, David’s childhood was marked by adversity, but it served as a catalyst
for his personal growth and the incredible value he placed on family.

In 1980, David married the love of his life, Linda Marie Errington Goodno. Their unwavering bond and
deep love were a true testament to their commitment to each other, and the two celebrated their 42 nd
wedding anniversary on August 30. Together, they created a nurturing and loving home for their two
children, Lisa Marie Kessler and Alan David Goodno.

As a father, David poured his heart and soul into the upbringing of his children. He instilled in them the
values of integrity, commitment, resiliency, and most importantly, love. His unwavering support and
guidance shaped his children into the remarkable individuals they are today.

David’s love extended to his son-in-law, Jeff Kessler, who married his beloved daughter Lisa. One of
David’s favorite roles was that of a grandfather; he was affectionately known as “papa” to twins Lily and
Carter Kessler (8).

David served his country with honor and distinction as a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
His dedication and commitment to his country were evident in every aspect of his service while
stationed at Langley AFB, Virginia, Ramstein Air Base, Germany and at the Air Force Flight Test Center in
Edwards AFB, California. David received many accolades while in service including an Air Force
Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster and the National Defense Service Medal.

Following his time in the military, David embarked on a new career as a licensed plumber in Savannah,
Georgia, where he excelled and made a lasting impact. It is nearly impossible to drive more than a few
miles throughout the Low Country and Coastal Empire without seeing a commercial plumbing project
David led and saw through completion. David's expertise and dedication set him apart in his field, and
his contributions will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of working with him.

Although our hearts ache with his absence, David's legacy lives on through the profound lessons he
imparted on his family. He was a guiding light, teaching us the true meaning of love, compassion, and
resilience. The traditions he instilled within our family serve as cherished reminders of his presence and
continue to bring us together, ensuring that his memory will be eternally treasured.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly
requests that donations be made to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in his honor.

David, we will carry your love with us, finding strength in the beautiful memories we shared. You will
forever be remembered as a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and best damn
airman you’d ever find.

May your soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in knowing that you
are watching over us from above.

Forever Loved, Forever Missed

Condolence from Tom and Linda Hodgson on May 17th, 2023 5:46 pm

David and Linda are part of our extended family as we are so fortunate to have Lisa as our daughter-in-law. We send our deepest sympathy and our love to Linda, Lisa and Alan at this time of loss. Seeing them express love for one another over the years, experiencing the joy being with them awaiting the birth of Lily and Carter, weathering hurricanes as a combined family, birthdays with the twins, going to festivals, the rodeo, and picking strawberries, this is how we got to know David and Linda and see their love for one another and their family. We have many treasured memories to share. You are in our hearts. David, may you rest in perfect peace.

All our love, Tom and Linda Hodgson
