“With the deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Donna Joy Holland-Fields, 67, of Brooklet, GA, who left our world peacefully on March 6th, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Donna was born June 2nd, 1957 in Chincoteague, VA to her parents Nolan B. Holland and Dorothy N. Holley who preceded her in death.
Donna is preceded in death by her sister Kimberly Holland.
She is survived by her beloved children, Robert N. Fields and Holly A. Fields; her siblings Deborah H. Walters of Rhinebeck, NY, Frederick Holland of Huntsville, AL, Robert Holland of St. Johns, FL, Kathy Waller of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Christina Wallace of Savannah, GA, Denise Robider and Brad Holland of Pooler, GA; her step mother Thu Evans of Pooler, GA;
Donna was a fiercely independent and selfless woman who could make friends with strangers and brought immense joy to any and everyone by being unapologetically herself. She was a lover of music and nature, spending much of the time in her yard in company of dragonflies with the radio set to 95.5, the same station she listened to for decades. When she wasn’t enjoying the outside, you could often find her perched behind an easel, creating beautiful oil-painted landscapes. In her work, she prided herself on being a part of the ILA 1475, union clerks and checkers, serving the Port Wentworth area. To say that this loss will be felt far and wide is an understatement.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah, GA. A celebration of life is planned, and her children will be in touch with family and close friends regarding details.”

Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers!
I worked with Ms Holly at kens years ago and she definitely left a lasting impression on me and my sister. She never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation like no other and always left you with a smile on your face- even on your worst day.

I remember Donna loved her children and was a safe haven for my son for a while as well. She named a tree after me after I backed into it. lol! She was remarkable woman who said what was on her mind and seemed to not be afraid to care deeply for those around her and speak her truth. Sending love and hugs to Robert (Bob) and Holly at this time of loss. She will be at peace now and forever.

I absolutely loved Ms Donna, I used to work with her and Holly at the Ken’s IGA in Blitchton. She was definitely a mother hen to all of us and even after she left she would always come in and I always had to get my hug and chat with her. She was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. You all have my condolences and I wish you all nothing but love and peace during this hard time.

Donna was always ready for a cup of coffee at midnight and a conversation. Working with her was like working with a force of nature. She was dynamic and an inspiration. God speed.

Donna was a beautiful lady inside and out. I first met her at Ken IGA and found out we were both on our journey with the ILA . She was an amazing person and a nature lover she gave me and Mom some of her wild flowers. God has an amazing gardener in heaven. Praying for peace and comfort to her family.

I do not know your family personally but I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. God’s Word promises at Revelation 21:3,4 that soon, death and sorrow will be done away with. We know this promise will come true because God cannot lie. Any pain and heartache we feel will be erased from our hearts. These feelings will be replaced with happiness and peace. I pray these words bring you much comfort at this time.
