Doris H. Allen, age 88, of Port Wentworth passed away Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born October 29, 1927 in Metter, she was the daughter of Demyse Holloway and Carrie Lee Holloway. Doris was a member of the Port Wentworth Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 59 years, and a member of the Port Wentworth Senior Citizens Center for 26 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband John E. Allen, Sr., a son John E. Allen, Jr., her son-in-law G.W. Stevens, and all of her siblings, she is survived by her children, Carolyn Stevens, James Thomas Allen, Sr., Robert E. Allen, Sr. (Linda), and Kathy Collins (Don); 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22nd from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Port Wentworth Alliance Church with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 am in the Church. Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park – West.

A beautiful video. So glad to get to see Doris at all times of her life. Billy and I send our sympathy to all the family.

mrs,Allen will be missed.She was a very sweet lady and I am glad I got to know her for many years.She loved to shop at piggly wiggly and I was glad to get to wait on her most of the time.She loved her family so very much.So sorry for your loss.
