Ernestine Davis Kline, 89, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving children.
She graduated high school from Marlow School in Guyton, GA where she met the love of life, Frank Claud Kline. They married 2 years after she graduated high school. They honeymooned on Tybee Island, GA then immediately relocated to Providence, RI, as Frank was active duty in the U.S. Navy. After being discharged from the Navy, they moved back to Eden, GA where they raised their family. In 1980, they moved to Whitemarsh Island. She was a homemaker and the proud mother to 3 children, Janet, Frank, and Susan. She enjoyed volunteering at Wilmington Island Methodist Church, where she was a member. She often worked with children during Mothers’ Morning Out. Some of her hobbies included painting, and spending time on the river fishing, crabbing, and enjoying the coastal breeze. Her favorite things included visiting the Florida Keys, reading a good book, attending church, being with her family, and indulging in a good dessert.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Claud Kline, her parents, Ernest L. (Sr) and Lorraine Davis, her brother, Roland Davis, Sr., and son-in-law, William French.
She is survived by her children Janet K. French, Frank E. Kline (Kari), and Susan K. Reel (Dan), grandchildren Frank T. Kline and Jennifer K. Wagner (Trey), great grandchildren Madison Wagner, Karlee, Khloe, Max, Stella, and Finn Kline, siblings Ernest L. Davis, Jr, Cynthia Mamais, and Andrea Johanson (Jim), as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Savannah, our many friends who have reached out, and Randy Raymond, who was a close friend and companion to her for several years.
Visitation will be held at Wilmington Island Methodist Church, 195 Wilmington Island Rd, Savannah, GA 31410 on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:30am with a celebration of life immediately following at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, any remembrances should be sent to Hospice of Savannah or to Wilmington Island Methodist Church in her memory.

We were so blessed to have known Ernestine. She was an absolutely beautiful person inside and out. We were neighbors for several years in Eden and attended church with the family.
