Frances Louise Brown, 74 years old, passed away peacefully after a long illness in Savannah, GA. on Friday,
February 6th, 2026.
Frances Louise Brown was born on August 11, 1951 to the parents of Mr. Dollies Sutton and Frances Louise Washington Sutton, in Savannah, GA. She was the second child of six children.
She graduated from Richard Arnold High School.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Chester Raymond Brown on June 21, 1973.
She began her career at Sears Roebuck and Company at the age of 18 as a sales associate. Although she didn’t like math, she had a natural affinity for it and eventually was promoted to the accounting team responsible for the majority of the financial aspects of the retail store. She was honored with several employee awards and received commiserate raises throughout her career. After 20 years with Sears, Frances decided to retire. But soon afterwards, she began working for Goodwill Industries as a Customer Service Representative and again found her way back into the financial services department. During her years at Goodwill, she encouraged many of her co-workers to excel despite their disabilities and was affectionately “adopted” as their “Work Mother”. Due to increasing health issues, she eventually retired from Goodwill permanently.
Dedicating her life to serving Jehovah, she was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1976. She devoted her life to the preaching ministry, teaching others about the Bible and the wonderful promise of everlasting life. She enjoyed serving as an Auxiliary Pioneer off and on throughout her years of service and always looked forward to attending her conventions and assemblies. She especially liked playing the role of Diana Ross with other spiritual sisters acting as The Supremes at congregation gatherings and was known to cut a rug or two along with her husband, Chester, on many occasions. She was an avid “thrifter” of her favorite “boutique”, Goodwill, loved fashion, comedy shows, (especially Carol Burnett), and enjoyed home decorating. She was also deeply family oriented and very close to her four sisters, taking on the role as The Matriarch of the Washington family unit. She served Jehovah to the end.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Raymond Brown, her father, Dollies Sutton, her mother, Frances Louise Sutton, her sister, Wilhelmina Washington, and her sister, Mary Ann Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her 3 children, Jeri Guyette-Beckles (Larry), William Simmons, Jr., and Omarie Bashar Brown, 5 grandchildren, Kenyetta Simmons, Gina-Marie Guyette (Scott), Omarie D.B. Brown, Arin-Louis Guyette, and Jamarie R.B. Brown, 4 great grandchildren, Jaevon, Mariah, Josiah and Manya, 3 sisters, Yvonne Lawton (Ozzie), Margie Washington, and Nancy Bing (Bernard), and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial service to be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM at The
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses
No Repast Post-Gathering after Memorial Service.

Im so sorry for your loss. I would like to share a beautiful hope for mankind. Jesus prepared a place because he made the way possible by means of his death. (John 14:2, 3) And at 2 Corinthians 12:2, 3 Paul speaks of this as paradise.
