Francis Arnold Gordon, Jr.
October 20,1947 May 26, 2017
Arnold, Big “A”, hit a Grand slam as he passed through the Pearly Gates to be with the Lord, on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was surrounded by his family and friends in the care of Hospice of Savannah.
Arnold was an avid softball player and coach for many years, dedicating hours at the ball field, after work and on the weekends making many memories and friends. He was a member of Bloomingdale Fellowship Church on Hwy 80. He was retired Navy, serving in the Vietnam War and retired from Merita Bread Company.
Arnold met the love of his Life, Theresa Ann Watson Gordon, whom he married 45yrs ago and was blessed with 3 children, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his beloved dog, Jingles. Papa always showed the importance of having a personal relationship with Christ, putting family first and giving 100% to life, whether playing ball or whatever they were pursuing. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves play ball, but nothing compared to him watching his grandkids playing sports, he was their #1 Fan & critic!
He is survived by His wife Theresa, His children- Christian Gordon, Shane & Stacy Gordon, Bobby & Tara Bell. Grandchildren, listed by age, also being pallbearers –Shane & Riley Gordon, Jr., Bobby Bell, IV, Brent Gordon, Levi Bell, Seth Gordon, Noah Gordon, Cameron Gordon, Sage Gordon, Gabriel Bell, Kaylee Bell, Haylee Bell. Great Grandchild-Raylyn Gordon. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Wynelle Beaudoin and Cathy Stokes, many Nieces and Nephews, and a long list of life-long friends. Papa was honorable, respectful, full of Integrity, a great man of God and will be greatly missed.
There will be graveside service at Greenwich at Bonaventure Cemetery on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00am. Officiating Pastors are Mark Minter and Lelon Jeffers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bloomingdale Fellowship at 1501 E. US Hwy 80, Bloomingdale, GA 31302 in honor of Arnold Gordon.

Bro. Arnold was a blessing and a pillar in our church.. His smile, prayers and encouragement will greatly be missed. We love the Gordon, Arnold, & Bell family… We are so sorry for your loss. Remember we are here for you always..

Before I ever met Arnold and Teresa, I knew they had to be special people to raise such a fine son as Shane who married my grand daughter (Stacy) and when i did meet them, I was right. Arnold left a great legacy in the way he lived and the way he raised his family. May God bless all of you at this time and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
