
Franklin Gentry Hutcheson Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 30, 1941, in Swainsboro, Georgia, Franklin was the beloved son of Joseph Franklin Hutcheson and Lucille Hutcheson.
He worked passionately for 35 years as a banquet and purchasing manager at Carey Hilliard’s, where he dedicated himself fully to his role and to those he served alongside.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Stewart Hutcheson; his son, Fredric Joseph Hutcheson; his daughter, April Francine Hutcheson Jones; his daughter-in-law, Donna Sue Hutcheson; a brother, Jimbo Hutcheson (wife Donna); and sister, Nanette Radford. He was preceded in death by his son, Franklin Gentry Hutcheson Jr. and his sister Annie Joe Mathis.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Gentry Hutcheson, Christy Hutcheson, Halie Hutcheson, Lucy Hutcheson, and Henry Hutcheson, as well as his three great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Franklin will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and the deep loyalty he showed to his family and work throughout his life. His impact will live on through the lives he touched.
