George "The Tree Man" Glover died at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia on Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was 83.
George was born October 2, 1931 to parents Bryan Harold Glover and Minerva Isabelle Snodgrass. George spent most of his life in Savannah, though he also lived in Springfield, Missouri while attending seminary school. He was a tree surgeon for many years and became known as "the tree man" locally.
George was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Riverview Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
George Glover is survived by his 2 sisters, Dora Smith and Mae Williams; his 2 brothers, Joseph R. Glover and Benjamin Glover; his four children, Rebecca Lively, Deborah Strickland, Quinn Glover and Tammy Withington; many nieces and nephews as well as eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He will be reunited in heaven with his daughter Maryann Glover who died at the age of five.
