
George William Glaspie, 74, passed away at Memorial Health on Saturday, October 11, 2025, leaving a huge gap in the lives of those he left behind.
Known as Bill to many, he was raised in Missouri and spent most of his working life in Savannah, Georgia. Bill worked for more than 30 years as a skilled mechanic at Backus Cadillac before transitioning into landscaping, where he continued to serve the local community with dedication and care.
A Missouri native, Bill was a lifelong resident of Effingham and Chatham Counties. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of cars, and deep commitment to family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Miriam L. Morgan Glaspie, and his parents, Noah and Ruby Glaspie.
He is survived by his beloved son, Stephen Wade Patterson (Christopher); beloved son by marriage, Gary “Ray” Lively (Mandi); grandchildren: Evan Patterson, Olivia Patterson, Miranda Maher (Rocky), Cameron Duncan, Tristan Duncan, Kierred Lively, Draven Lively, Emma Lively, and Madison Lively; and great-grandchildren: London Maher and Millie Maher.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
