Jerry was one of a kind and I am so glad he was in my life. He was, and always will be, the best boss I ever had. I am so fortunate he was also a friend. I will miss his humor so much. Sending my love to the family and especially to Dan during this difficult time.

I was the Wrigley librarian and worked very closely with Jerry. We became great friends. Always loved his sense of humor and that he was the Birthday Boy” for the entire month of December! Am just heart-broken . My deepest sympathies to Dan. Mary Kay, Lauren and Eileen and your families.

Jerry Delaney was my first real friend at BBDO -someone whose values ,interests and sense of humor I adored . He advised me w love when my 13 year old son came out , teased me when I got my scary intense persona on and shared so many amazing gardening and travel tips .
One of his beautiful photos graces my office and his deeply spiritual empathetic coaching graces my life . Love to you Dan — you are a wonderful man and such a source of joy for Jerry . To his family —- u were his anchor in the very best way .Share a favorite song of his . I want to reach out to him .

Jerry wasn’t my uncle by family, but he was always there for my mom and my family. Uncle Jerry was a kind, caring and humorous person and he left a lasting impression on my sister and I when we were kids. Love and miss you Uncle Jerry.

To Dan and all of Jerry’s family – I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Jerry at BBDO and he made my experience there so much more enjoyable. He truly was a lovely person and had the best sense of humor. His photography was beautiful. I hope he knew how much he was liked by those of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jerry was to me the sweetest eyes that looked at me at the Chicago Photography Center. He did it with such attention and kindness that showed me a beautiful human being able to genuinely open his heart with love, sincere interest and empathy to everyone. I will certainly keep him in my heart forever.
Thank you Jerry, RIP now.
Dan, I am here for you.
Love, Martha

I’m so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. I spent many great lunches and conferences with him in the 1990’s when we were librarians in the Loop. Though I hadn’t seen him in a while I remember his sense of humor and graciousness, as well as his beautiful home in Ravenswood. Rest In Peace, Jerry

Dan,
I am heartbroken to learn of Jerry’s death. You are in my thoughts; I know how impossible this is. Take advantage of every offer of help and say no when you need to. Say yes often enough even if you must force yourself. Jerry was truly one of the best people I knew. He was such an important part of my youth, my life. I always felt he was one of the people who knew me best. Please extend my condolences to Jerry’s family.
I have a lot of pictures from when we were young (and sometimes goofy.). I can send copies of some.
