Geraldine (Gerald) Taylor, age 73, of Savannah, passed away Sunday, March 22nd, 2015 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A native of Savannah, she was the daughter of Rufus Busby and Louise Bing Gray. Mrs. Taylor attended Tompkins High School and belonged to the Good Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Taylor was actively involved in organizations such as the NCO Wife Club and Eastern Stars in Alaska. In her free time, Mrs. Taylor loved to cook fruitcakes and shop in Beaufort.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter–Gerry Taylor, sister–Margie Dine Robinson, and brothers– Alfonzo Gray and John Henry Busby, she is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Brooks of Hardeeville, SC and Betty Taylor of Savannah; sons, Joe Taylor, Jr. (Marie) of Memphis, TN and Joseph Taylor (Pricilla) of Savannah; brothers, Tommy Gray (Debra) of Savannah, Rufus Busby, Jr. (Lillian) and J.C. Busby (Julia Ann); sisters, Rose Bryant (Daniel), Ruthie Mae Hill (Gilbert) and Rena Mae Busby; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 28th, 2015 at First Thankful Baptist Church, located at 2591 Steep Bottom Rd. Estill, SC. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 28th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at First Thankful Baptist Church with burial to follow in Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm, located at 50 Good Hope Rd.
