Glynn T. Edmondson, age 88, of Savannah, died Wednesday March 19th, 2014 at Savannah Commons.
A native of Laurens County, she was the daughter of Septimus E. Thigpen and Elizabeth A. Walker Thigpen. Glynn moved to Savannah in 1943 after graduating from Soperton High School. In 1988, she retired from Savannah Electric & Power after working as a Secretary for 30 years. A former member of Morningside Baptist Church in Savannah, she was also a member of the Elks Club Auxiliary.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years John K. Edmondson, Sr. and siblings, Ada Thigpen Hebert, Curtis Thigpen, Clyde Thigpen, Mildred Thigpen Edenfield, and Margaret Thigpen Lavender, she is survived by her husband David J. Stout, daughter, Maria Edmondson (Lytt I. Gardner) of Alpharetta, Georgia; her son, John Kelly Edmondson (Stephanie) of Mechanicsville, Virginia; a brother, Raymond Thigpen of Dublin, Georgia; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 22nd from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bonaventure Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Bonaventure Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family has requested remembrances be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
