Hazel Franklin was born on December 25, 1914 in Yemasee, South Carolina. She moved to Savannah with her family at a young age where she was educated at St. Benedict Catholic School. Hazel moved to Mount Vernon, New York where she lived most of her adult life. She later moved back to Savannah and became a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church.
Hazel entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Betty Tattnall; one grandson, Percy Tattnall (Janice); three great grandsons, JoVan Tattnall (Stephanie), Brandon Hill (Samantha), Tristan Hill; one great granddaughter, Tiffany Tattnall, and a host of great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish a nephew, George Greene, of New York, and other relatives and family.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 738 Hitch Drive, Savannah, Georgia (Old Fort/Historic District).
