Celebration of the Life of Helen D. Gray
Beginnings
Mrs. Helen D. Gray was born on September 9, 1935 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Varnell and Charlotte Walker.
Helen was educated in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board for many years until her health failed.
Commitment
Helen was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Archie L. Gray and out of this Union six children were born who treasure her sweet memory. Helen leaves behind her six children, Bernard (Georgia), Gwendolyn Walker (Hardie), Archie (Genia), Anthony (Terrie), Tommie (Decase), Scottie (Tywanee); her brothers, Varnell (Val) and Davis (Ann), nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
A Life Well Lived
On December 19, 2018 Helen answered the clear, sweet call from her heavenly FATHER and slipped away to be with the LORD. Her greatest joy was to Worship and Praise her GOD. She was a true Prayer Warrior and an awesome Mother. Thank you for Loving us, Mom.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1008 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Savannah. Funeral Services:will be held on Friday, December 28 at 11:00 A.M. from the Church. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park – West, Savannah.
