Henry Vinton “Byrd” Waite, Jr., age 71, of Savannah, passed away Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A native of Savannah, he was the son of Henry Vinton Waite, Sr. and Helen Smith Waite. Byrd was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, an architect who designed million-dollar homes for contractors in Savannah and worked for the largest architectural firm in Atlanta. He loved trains, firetrucks, ships, and meeting and getting to know tourists.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Stuberg, he is survived by his daughter, Guinevere Waite; grandchildren Louis Cooler, Derek Cooler, and Haylie Cooler; great-grandchildren Jayden Schwendner and Jaxton Gibson; a sister, Sandra Quick; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

My heart goes out to you, Uncle Bubba as I knew him aka Byrd or Vinton will surly be missed by many. We had many good times together, touring the Bounty on river street, hanging out underground in city market listening to the blues or just talking while I worked on his truck, Yeah we did have some good times…He sure loved you and all his grandkids.
