Issac was born January 23, 1949 to the late Mr. Bobby Gore and Mrs. Pauline Nelson Gore in Ridgeland, SC. He relocated to Savannah, GA in 1967. Issac received his early education in Jasper County, SC. and was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC. Issac was a diligent and faithful worker. He was employed with GA Pacific, GA Ports Authority, Memorial Health Medical University, The Housing Authority of Savannah, Georgia. Additionally, he owned R.I.T. Janitorial Cleaning Services. “Issac” means laughter. He was an all-around good person. He was extremely nice, hilarious, and very handsome. He always put other’s happiness before his own. Issac is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ella Hope-Nelson. On Saturday October 12th, 2013 at 10:01 p.m., he transitioned from labor to rest.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons; Issac Simpkins, (Ireshia), Ivan Nelson, (Genea), five daughters; Nicole London (Renaldo), Ridgeland, SC, Katina King, Tiesha Nelson, Cortney Shepphard, and Gwendolyn H. Royal, (Pastor Stanley E. Royal Sr.) all of Savannah, Georgia. Eight brothers; Bobby Gore Jr., (Barbara), Thomas Gore Sr., (Betty), Gussie Gore of Savannah, GA, Benjamin Gore Sr. (Patricia), Harold Nelson (Theresa) of Ridgeland, SC. Herbert Lee Gore, Verdell Gore (Pauline) of Philadelphia, PA, Samuel Gore who preceded him in death. Seven sisters; Polly Ann Young who preceded him in death. Marjorie Adams,(Benglee) Philadelphia, PA, Loretta Lloyd (James) Newark, NJ, Loretta Ellison, Rebecca Nelson (his twin) of Nashville, TN, Ruthie Mae Nelson, Ridgeland, SC, Dorothy Estell (Everett), of Savannah, GA., 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be Saturday, October 19 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, 535 Berrien St., Savannah with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 A.M. from the Church. Interment: Low Bottom Cemetery in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Issac was a very unique person. We spent many years together talking, celebrating, and traveling. However, it was not until the end of his life that I truly, truly came to know him for the man that he was: comical, caring, affectionate. I am truly grateful that he returned to the fold of Christs’ love. I love you Pop and you are dearly missed.
