Janette Rooker passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center in Savanah, GA at the age of 66 due to complications from covid/pneumonia.

Janette was born September 26, 1955, in St. Albans, NY. She graduated from Newport High School in Newport, NH and later moved to Savanah, GA.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Kailer and Marion Rennie Kailer and her brother John Kailer. She is survived by her daughter Heather Rooker; grandson Brandon Rooker; sister Margret Harrington (Steve Harrington); nephews Paul Harrington (Shelly Harrington) and Steven Harrington (Susan Harrington); nieces Tina Swislosky (Jim Swislosky) and Kimberly Kailer; and six great nieces/nephews.

Jan was a hard worker and highly active. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a girl scout and a Queen Contestant in the 1972 Newport Winter Carnival. She was also on bowling and dart league teams for many years. She enjoyed travelling and had been on a couple cruises to the Caribbean.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Jan’s Facebook page will remain open, and all are welcome to post memories and final words to her there.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of donations to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (https://4hcm.org/donate/) in Janette Rooker’s name.
