Jason hated how obituaries read. Always stating how someone fought a courageous battle against cancer. Jason wanted everyone to know that he hated the “C” word, he wanted everyone to remember him for his gigantic muscles, and that he passed as a result of telling Dr. Spellman that “she could dig a hole, push him in it, and throw the walker in on top of him.” That, and of course, too many cream sodas. He gave Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma he!! in true Fighting Irish Spirit since he was diagnosed in May of 2018. Jason lived everyday to its fullest surrounded by his loving family and pets. He gained his wings on June 20th at his home in Richmond Hill at the age of 49.
Jason was employed by Terminix and spent his days making friends; He enjoyed good music, fishing, was a huge animal lover, and truly loved his Notre Dame Football.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Simmons, his children Kelsea Simmons Lucas, Jason Bradley Simmons Jr, Johnathan Brody Simmons,(and their mother, Celeste Brinson Simmons) and Bentley Keaton Ring. His step children Ashley Nichols, John Tyler Addison, and Shelby Wettlaufer will remember him fondly as the greatest dad. Jason adored all of his grandchildren Hannah, Maycee, Brantley, Braylee, Willy, and Jordyn. He was preceded in death by his iconic father, Johnny Earl Simmons. He is survived by his loving mother Janice Simmons of Wilmington Island, his amazing sister Dawn Simmons of Kansas City. The Simmons Family and Brinson Family will always remember him fondly. Most importantly he leaves behind his precious cat, his pride and joy, Shadow Puss.
He would like everyone to yell a “Go Irish” from time to time in his memory.
A go fund me page was set up by his employer at the beginning of his journey and donations can be made in lieu of flowers as a memorial award in his memory will be established.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday June 27th 5-8 pm at Richmond Hill City Center, 520 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
We ask that everyone attending come dressed in Navy Blue, Gold, Green or Notre Dame attire.
Masks will be provided.

Jas… you were a champ and stood the test of time with the fighting spirit of the Irish. Thanks for being there for all of us and took us in as family. You will be remembered always in our hearts. Farewell, good and loving servant of our Lord. Rest in peace and in the love of God. Amen.
I sure hate to hear this. Jason was a good guy. I knew him from his marriage to my great niece Celeste,some years back. He will be missed g by many..Rest in Peace ,Jason..
I am so sorry to hear about this. Jason was my 2nd cousin (Janice is a 1st cousin) that I really only got to know as our daughter’s were growing up together and playing sports. I would get to catch up with him later, sometimes, in the gym. I loved the guy and regret not staying in touch. My prayers for the family in the weeks ahead…. David Williford
So very very sorry to hear of Jason’s passing. We used to spend a good bit of time together during softball season but it has been awhile. It was always a blast when we were all together. My husband David Williford and Jason are cousins. We love Jason and all of his family. I pray you will all feel God’s peace during this difficult time! ????❤

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Jason’s family during this devastating time of loss..
There are no words of comfort to offer, however I can offer words of remembrance for a truly kind and gentle and generous man.. although it has been a few years since i have seen Jason , recently, while fighting his own battle, I was reminded of just how kind and caring he was. My family suffered the great loss our dad in October.Jason made sure to extend his condolences and wanted assurance that we were all ok…, this speaks volumes. And my family was truly touched that he took this time to reach out to us despite what he was going through….he was truly selfless!! He will be loved and missed by all!!
Jas, you will be missed and I thank you for your friendship and the laughs we shared. I will always remember your laugh and the way you loved life and your family. As you would always say we were Irish Brothers and until we meet again Godspeed my Brother!

Hey, Jason. I just learned of your passing last night when I received the incredible tribute from Naomi and Hospice Savannah in your memory. I am blessed to have known you and spent some extra time with you at Memorial as chaplain, and met your dear wonderful wife that you spoke of so fondly on your Terminix visits. Never forgetting how he loved his Conor McGregor UFC and life in general ❤️ He is truly missed, but he spent Fathers Day with his original hero , his daddy Johnny, in Heaven. I bet they went fishing .
I love you my sweet husband. You showed me love and grace and I’ll remember you always for the unconditional love you always had for family and friends . In your memory we will continue to keep loved ones close and remind everyone “it’s not what you take with you when you go, but what you leave behind”.
