Jeffrey Michael Rubin, 67, died of a heart attack on the weekend of June 6th.
Jeff was born in New York City, New York to Richard and Helene Rubin, and was the third of their five children. He spent the bulk of his career writing copy for a D.C. publishing company in order to support his wife and five children. But outside his somewhat dry professional life, he was a prolific and award-winning screenwriter, a captivating stage actor, a voracious reader, perceptive critic, and enthusiastic connoisseur of pizza and grilled meats. More than anything, he was an ardent Catholic and loving father.
He will be buried in Savannah, Georgia, where he was living when he died. A wake in his honor will be held this Sunday, June 20th, at 4 p.m at Families First Funeral Care & Cremation Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Monday June 21st, at 10 a.m. at The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mary’s Shelter (marysshelterva.org), a charity for single mothers that Jeffrey emphatically supported.
