Joan B. Adams

Posted By Funeral Funeral Futurist On September 22, 2015 @ 12:00 am In Obituaries | No Comments

After a very brief battle with cancer, Joan B. Adams passed away on September 22, 2015. She was 71. She leaves behind two daughters: Tracey Deese (Troy) and Jackie Hollis (Tony); six grandchildren: Amy Tenney (Bobby), Laurie Mills (Robert), James Johnson, Shelby Johnson (Jody Allen), Brandon Hollis, and Miranda Hollis; seven great-grandchildren: CJ, Corbin, and Olivia Tenney, Shelby, Tyler, and Riley Mills, and Kenzlie Hollis; a sister, Helen Greer; two honorary grandsons: Joey Woods and Andy Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

She retired from the warehouse at Avon Products after 25 years of service. Devoted to her family, she was a care-taker for all and a "rock" for most. She was a brave, iron-willed woman with a wicked sense of humor. Joan was honest, and loyal, and loved fiercely by her family. She will be greatly missed.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, a husband, four sisters, and three brothers.

Joan’s wish was to be cremated. A private memorial service will be held.

In lieu of cards or flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Joan’s name to the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Go to curearthritis.org for more information.

Condolences for the family of “Joan B. Adams”

Condolence from Scott Dixon on September 24th, 2015 2:28 pm

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.

May the many fond memories of your loved one provide you with peace and serenity at this time of loss.

Condolence from Amy Tenney on September 24th, 2015 3:34 pm

You were such a beautiful person, inside and out. It’s so hard to believe that you are gone. My heart hurts, and it’s hard to imagine a time when this won’t hurt the way it does, but I take comfort in knowing your pain and your suffering is over, and you can rest. I love you, GeeGee.

Condolence from Laurie Mills on September 25th, 2015 11:04 am

You were such a beautiful person and I will always cherish all of our memories. I can’t believe you are gone but I am so glad that you are not in pain anymore. You were the most amazing Grandma. I will always miss the way you danced, laughed, the way your smile lit up a room, and the way you smelled. I will never forget you. I love you so much GeeGee.

Condolence from Billie Jo Sommers on September 26th, 2015 8:58 am

You were my best friend, you were always there for me in good times and in bad. You were family, but more importantly you chose me as your friend, I was honored by that. I cherish my memories of vacations, holidays, birthdays so much fun, so many laughs. But the quiet times were just as special.

I’m a little lost right now, but I take comfort in knowing you are no longer in pain, and you can rest. Til we meet again my friend, I love you.
