Joe John Wilson October 5, 1969 – June 26, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe John Wilson, who peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 26, 2026, at the age of 56.

Joe was born on October 5, 1969, in Maben, Mississippi, to John Daniel Wilson and Alice Elizabeth Hudson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before dedicating his life to his family, his career, and the people he loved most.

For more than 25 years, beginning in 2000, Joe dedicated his career to the restaurant industry. He had a true passion for restaurant management and also found fulfillment working in food safety and quality assurance.

Those who knew Joe will remember him for his kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering willingness to help others, and unforgettable sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to make others laugh, often with his playful, sometimes slightly mischievous humor that family and close friends knew and loved. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Whether offering thoughtful advice, sharing a laugh, or simply being there when someone needed him, Joe left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Joe found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the golf course, traveling to new places, fishing, taking long walks outdoors, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. A devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Cubs, he always enjoyed watching a game and sharing his love of baseball with family and friends. Some of his favorite moments were spent relaxing on the beach, admiring beautiful views, and making memories with those he loved. His appreciation for the outdoors and his enjoyment of life’s quiet moments reflected the grateful and content spirit with which he lived each day.

Above all, Joe’s greatest joy was his family. He found happiness in sharing early morning coffee and conversation, making coffee for his beloved wife each morning, and spending quality time with those he loved. His son, Landon, will always treasure the pride and encouragement his father showed by attending his military graduation, while his daughter, Denisa, will forever cherish the softball memories, long walks, and heartfelt conversations they shared together. Joe had a remarkable gift for making his family feel heard, valued, and deeply loved. His greatest legacy is not only the life he lived, but the love he gave so freely every day.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lidya Wilson; his daughter, Denisa Wilson; his son, Landon Wilson; his brother, John Wilson and wife, Janet Wilson; and his sister, Katherine Wilson-Burris and husband, Bryan Burris. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel Wilson and Alice Elizabeth Hudson.

A memorial service celebrating Joe’s life will be held on Friday, July 10, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Gardens Chapel of Community Bible Church, located at 1112 E. 69th Street, Savannah, GA 31404. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to honor and remember Joe’s life.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Hospice Savannah, as well as to our family, friends, and everyone who offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
