I am forever grateful for all the knowledge Jollie bestowed to me in my first library position. I couldn’t have had a better co-worker and role model. I just know she is reading her heart out right now.

To Jollie’s family and friends. Ms. Jollie was an incredible mentor and she became one of my closest friends during my volunteering tenure at Hesse, even inviting me out to lunch and always going above and beyond for me. May she rest in peace. Sending love and prayers to her family.

I remember when we all went to Eastside Church and no matter how many years have passed we always had a friendship. Jollie loved her family and friends and her fur babies. She also loved her job at Hesse. I wish I could of seen you more…I will always cherish our good times and I pray for all your family to hold on to the love and special times you shared together. You are missed and loved.

I’m so thankful I got to meet Jollie. She got her name honestly! To meet her was to become her friend from then on. She was a very sweet and special lady. She loved her family and her Lord Jesus fiercely, and I seriously doubt she ever met a stranger. She also love her time as a librarian, her cats, and most of all her books. When we would visit, she always encouraged my grandson to read more, suggested books he might like, and challenged him to come back and talk with her about what he read. She’d tell him she had lived a lifetime of adventures through books and he could do the same. The passion in her voice as she talked about it was really special. She also had a sweet tooth to say the least. She mentioned inconversation what her favorite item was, so the next time I went to visit, I saw a bakery just before I got there and stopped to see if they had it. God is sooo in the details! They had it, I bought 2 of them hoping it would be as good as the ones she liked. When I handed her the little bakery box no Christmas tree ever lit up more than her face did that day! She was so excited and asked how I knew to go to her favorite bakery!! Needless to say, from then on every time I made a trip to Savannah I would go by “her” bakery and drop her favorite treat off to her, rven ifnI could onlybstay a few minutes. Trips to Savannah in the future are going to be especially difficult now. I am so looking forward to my next visit with my sweet friend though. When I get to meet with her in heaven, she will be happy, whole, healed, and strolling over those streets of gold! My heart hurts for me, and all her family and friends as we’ve had to say goodbye for now, but I’m so happy and excited for her! I bet her face lighting up over her treats was nothing to how it’s shining in heaven!! Until we meet again, I’ll be praying for all the family as y’all try to navigate without her.
