Kathy Gaither, born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 31, 1944, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia.
Kathy devoted her life to education, teaching mathematics with unwavering dedication and care. Beyond the classroom, she shared her love of learning by tutoring and serving as a summer camp instructor for children across Maryland and Wisconsin.
She cherished her family, friends, and especially her beloved cats and dogs. Kathy found joy in gardening and her frequent trips to Florida. A lifelong learner, even after retirement she continued to explore new interests—most memorably taking a small engine repair course simply to understand more about how things worked.
Always listening and offering wisdom and support, Kathy touched countless lives with her genuine kindness, compassion, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and “Libby” Gaither; her sister, Kriss Anderson; and her daughter by adoption, Patricia “Patti” Pridham.
She is survived by her brother, Clay Gaither, and his wife, Sally, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kathy’s memory to your local animal rescue organization.
