Kenneth C. Anderson

Posted By Families Firstcare On October 4, 2017 @ 4:40 pm In Obituaries | 17 Comments

It is with profound sadness that the family of Kenneth C. Anderson announces his passing after a 2-year battle with cancer; on, September 24th, 2017 he passed peacefully in his sleep at home, at the age of 70.

Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Mary, his children and their spouses, Jaime (Dan) and Raymond (Elizabeth). He will also be missed by; his granddaughter, Quinn, his family overseas, and his very large extended group of loyal friends, as well as his four-legged companion, Calleigh.

He enjoyed a longtime membership in the Elks Club, grabbing drinks with his friends, and always ensuring that he had fun times with his family. He lived his life cruising the road with the top down, making frequent pitstops to help anyone and everyone along the way. He loved; creating/building things by hand, history – especially his own family military history, the high-octane world of hotrods and restoring his 1936 Ford. Most recently, enjoying his retirement living in Georgia and frequent trips to Tybee Island, soaking in the sun and waves with his wife. He was a man of profound generosity, and always-on-the-go attitude, and stubbornness.

As per Ken’s request, no wake or funeral service will be held. Any cards, condolences, or flowers can be sent to his family.

Donations in his memory can be made to WoundedWarriorProject.org.

“When people remember me, I hope they smile or laugh and not cry. I want them to remember the good times we had” – Kenneth Anderson, 2017

A bright light has gone out in the world. Ken was one of the best guys I ever knew – the best husband, dad, granddad, friend. He always had a dream, and wanted only the best for everyone. I think of him now sitting with his good buddy, Nick, and talking over old times. Big hugs to you, Mary, Jaime, Ray, Dan, Liz and Quinn. Love you all so much!

Ken was my American cousin, and the times I spent with him over the years were always happy and memorable be it in the USA or here in England. He was so kind and just fun showing me around Hoboken in 1978, which has always stayed with me. I’m so shocked by this and my thoughts are with you Mary, Jaime and Ray and their families. All our love Steve & Carrie Annetts

Hi Mary Jamie Raymond and family

We were so sad to hear of Ken’s passing especially as we had rung a few hours earlier that day.

I remember Ken in March 1950 when he stood in the doorway in a little check coat and matching hat and waved his little hand at us all and said hi. Before he returned to the USA at the end of August Elsie Ethel and I took him into a shop and bought his a complete British boys outfit a red blazer and grey shorts etc and he parades along the counter of the shop very please with himself.

Mary remember the honeymoon trip to the Isle Of Mull And later the Robbie Burns room what fun we had. He will always be remembered

My condolence is actually a love note to Ken himself. If you are watching and guiding us down here, please know that you were my best friend and devoted husband. I am blessed for having had 31 years with you. I have many happy and fun memories to sustain me. They will fill the emptiness in my heart. Finally, thank you for leaving me with “that dog!”

Dear Mary and family…I just learned of Ken’s passing and am very sorry for your loss. I knew Kenny since I was a kid when he and my dad worked together. Later on I had the opportunity to work with him. He always had an interesting story to share, sound advice and a helping hand and and was fun to be around.
