Kenneth “Ken” Roberts April 8, 1957 – August 10, 2026

Kenneth “Ken” Roberts, born in West Virginia in 1957, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family. While he proudly served his country as a Naval Officer for 20 years and enjoyed another 20-year career with Gulfstream/General Dynamics, Ken would want to be remembered not for his accomplishments, but for the people he loved and the lives he touched.

Ken was the devoted husband of Kathy Roberts; loving father of KJ Roberts and his wife, Erin Roberts, and Jessica Wimmer and her husband, Chris Wimmer; and proud grandfather of Evelyn Wimmer, his only grandchild and one of the greatest joys of his life.

A Christ-centered man, Ken lived his faith through action. He was a leader in his church, a mentor to many, and a servant to all. His greatest joy came from helping others, and he never sought recognition for the difference he made.

Ken possessed a quiet strength that earned the respect of everyone who knew him. He had a way of making people feel heard, valued, and supported. His wisdom, humility, patience, and unwavering integrity spoke for themselves, and his steady presence was a source of comfort and guidance to family, friends, coworkers, and strangers alike. He was the kind of man you might find in an old pair of jeans and a well-worn T-shirt, yet he would gladly give you that shirt if you needed it more than he did.

If you knew Ken, chances are you shared a meal with him. And if you sat at his table, you likely left with more than you came with: encouragement, friendship, laughter, wisdom, or simply the feeling of being cared for. He welcomed people as they were, invested in their lives, and made everyone feel like family. Through his example, he showed others what it means to lead with compassion, humility, and Christ-like love.

In accordance with his wishes, Ken will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered on the family land in the mountains of West Virginia, the place he always considered home. As the song says, “Country roads, take me home,” and now, at last, Ken has found his way home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ken’s memory by doing something kind for someone else. Help a neighbor, share a meal, offer encouragement, or lend a hand to someone in need. Do it quietly, without recognition or praise, because that is how Ken lived his life. There would be no greater tribute than carrying forward the kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart he shared so freely with others.
