Kristie Beth Maynard (aka Jessie) passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Flint, Michigan and Palatka, Florida. She was a loving mother, sister and wife. She enjoyed being a Nana more than anything in this world. She loved BINGO as well as yard saleing and any type of thrifting! She loved hanging out by the fire, having a few drinks with her family and friends. She also enjoyed meal time…and when I say meal time I mean hanging with the family, making a big dinner and talking and laughing about everything and nothing all at once! She will be missed so very much. Our world is torn apart.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Norwood; father, Duke Maynard; brother, Lincoln Maynard; and grandsons, Timothy and Cohen; and also, her loving doggy of 12 years, Roxy.
She is survived by her loving life partner, Duane Ekern; daughters, Amanda Maynard (Eric Rigaux), Brooke Maynard (Cody Hurt) and Cassi Cordell; sons, John Cordell (Madison Cordell) and Duane Ekern; sisters, Robin Maynard and Tammy McQuaid; nephews, Joshua Maynard, Jonas Maynard (Rachel), Chad Keeney and Jay Maynard; niece Emma Maynard; and grandchildren, Kadynce Beth Singer, Kale Purdy, Asherblu H. Owen Maynard, August Grey Maynard and Eric Rigaux Jr.
She was a wonderful nana who adored and loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as being a homemaker while raising her son Duane. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts. The viewing service will be held at Families First Funeral Care on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3pm. A memorial service with food will be held at John and Karen McCarthy’s home, located at 111 Salt Creek Road, Savannah, Georgia directly after the viewing service. Any and all are welcome to join us.
