No matter my mood when I saw you and you smiled big and waved, so I flipped my sirens to say hi and I waved happily. Though the First time I saw you I was new to the Job and you were circling my ambulance with your music and flag. When you introduced yourself I was happy to have met a kind soul who enjoyed life so much! Iโm going to miss you๐ฉต

It always brought a smile to my three boys and me as we rode through Savannah and saw Mr. Larry riding proudly with his flag. We even witnessed him cleaning the intersection off of Truman numerous times. We didnโt know his real name until this horrific accident happened and we came across it on Facebook. My boys and I always called him Mr. America. We will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in knowing how many smiles he brought to this beautiful city of Savannah.

When i first saw you I was like why this man riding down the road with a huge flag on his bike. At first I thought it was the flag from that rug place on Hwy 204 until i saw it waving on the flagpole in front of the store. I rode down Derenne on Tuesday April 22, looking for you and the big flag then it dawn on me you will not be riding down this road or Abercorn St. I am going to miss you riding through Savannah. Now you can ride through the pearly gate with your flag on your bike. S.I.H.P. Larry (FLAG MAN)

I’m going to miss seeing you ride your bike flying your flag. I remember you’d be on River Street or in the square riding in circles waving your flag. You didn’t bother or beg anymore for anything. A real cool dude. I hope they catch the dumb ass that hit you and took you away from us and what you loved doing most. Rip Larry “The flag Man”. Forever one of Savannah’s Greatest๐๐

I talked to him a few times. He was very well known all over Savannah. That Flag was HUGE~ I asked him one time “why such a big flag?” his reply was “why not?”. Well Now I said it’s your right and you aren’t hurting anybody. It is sad that a person hit him and kept going. That is not right. May he Rest in Peace ~
