It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Virginia Haynes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch of our family. She peacefully departed this world on May 17, 2023 at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on April 7, 1942 in Savannah, Georgia, Lillian embarked on a remarkable journey filled with love, compassion, and devotion. She was a beacon of strength, a source of guidance, and a constant source of inspiration for her children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and seventeen great-grandchildren: Pamela V. Tisdale (and her husband Michael Tisdale, and their children Andrise Tisdale and Michael Tisdale, Jr.); Janieen R. Tarrance (and her husband Kelvin Tarrance and their children Joshua Tarrance and Jordan Tarrance); Jacquelyn Bostick (and her children Earl Bostick, Antonio Bostick, and Betty Bostick ); Lawrence Walker (and his children Kenya Lewis, Lawrence Walker, Jr., Linda Walker, and Rashad Walker); Howard Wallace (and his wife Daphne Wallace); and Terrence Wallace (and his wife Sarah Wallace). Her unconditional love and unwavering support shaped the lives of her family, and her spirit will forever reside within their hearts.

Throughout her life, Lillian was a woman of remarkable character, known for her kindness, empathy, and gentle nature. She possessed an incredible ability to bring joy and laughter to those around her, brightening the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, tender touch, and wise counsel were the cornerstones of her maternal nature, creating a nurturing environment that will be dearly missed.

Family was at the core of Lillian’s existence. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children, instilling in them values of love, respect, and perseverance. She rejoiced in their triumphs, provided solace during their hardships, and offered unwavering support throughout their journeys. Lillian was a source of unwavering strength, inspiring her children to be the best versions of themselves.

As a grandmother, Lillian showered her grandchildren with immeasurable affection, creating countless treasured memories and leaving an indelible imprint on their lives. She embraced the joy of watching her family grow, and her presence at family gatherings will forever be remembered as a source of warmth and love.

Aside from her unwavering dedication to her family, Lillian was a remarkable friend, holding deep and cherished connections with those fortunate enough to know her. Her capacity for friendship was boundless, and her commitment to nurturing and supporting her friends was an extension of her vibrant spirit and genuine love for life.

As we remember Lillian, we honor not only her dedication to family, friends, and her varied interests, but also her steadfast Christian devotion. May her unwavering faith continue to serve as a guiding light, reminding us of the power of love, compassion, and the eternal bond of faith in times of joy and sorrow alike. While we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary woman, we take solace in the knowledge that Lillian has left an enduring legacy of love, strength, and compassion. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by her grace.

In this time of grief, let us remember the lessons she taught us, the love she bestowed upon us, and the legacy she leaves behind. May we find comfort in each other and carry her spirit with us as we continue on our own life journeys.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Lillian, knowing that your love will forever guide and protect us. You will be profoundly missed, but your memory will forever be cherished.
