Linda Yvonne Cook Hendrix, 67, of Savannah, GA. Matthew 11:28-30 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Linda was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 12, 1957. Linda attended Herschel V. Jenkins High School class of 1975. Having lived a beautiful life in which she fulfilled her mission on earth, God welcomed Linda into His arms after a long illness on Thursday, August 8, 2024. She passed peacefully at Hospice Savannah. Linda’s parents Jordan & Marilyn Tremble, brother Robert Mickles Sr., and granddaughter Janai Alyssa Crouse preceded her in death. She leaves many memories behind for her eleven children to treasure: Octavius Cook of Birmingham, Alabama, Marilyn Reid (Tarkis Reid), Katrina McDay, Sabbrina Heyward (Rachain Heyward) all of Savannah, Jacob Houston III (Depeatrice Houston) of Atlanta, GA, Romaine Houston (Coretta Houston) of Claxton, Jason Houston of Mississippi, Nitra Crouse (James Crouse) of Savannah, Jennifer Houston of Savannah, DeNisha Houston of Los Angeles, Cal, and Danny Hendrix Jr. (Rebecca Hendrix) of Savannah. 24 grandchildren, 9 great-grands. Siblings: Survived by Five sisters Terry Hendrix of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Grant, Mildred Connors, Beulah Golden all three of Savannah, and Elnora Martin of Atlanta. Brother: Henry Martin of Savannah.
The family will be receiving family and friends at 2419A Riviera Drive, Savannah, GA starting Friday afternoon. The memorial service will be held at Central Missionary Baptist Church 3119 Shell Road in Thunderbolt, GA on August 17, 2024, at 11 am.
