Luis Amaro Rivera

Posted By Families Firstcare On January 3, 2023 @ 1:19 pm In Obituaries | 4 Comments

Luis Amaro was born on March 4, 1967 and died on December 28, 2022.

Luis was born in New York City, United States of America and since childhood he went to live with his parents in Puerto Rico.

At 29, Luis was at the U.S. Naval Military Base from 1996 to 1999. He then studied Computer Science. He had a variety of jobs, such as, Customer Service. Luis dedicated his last years of life to working for the most needy, helping them in everything he could and his last jobs where he managed to help the most were in Inner City Shelter and CSAH (Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless).
Luis preached to those in need so that they would be very close to God, gave them wise counsel and gave them
help to recover. Luis supported them in looking for work and an apartment to start a new life. In his work he had the tools to help them restore their lives, but Luis did it from the heart and personally verified that all the refugees were okay.

Luis was an exceptional person, very responsible and creative in all aspects, very noble, kind, charitable, with a
high sense of good humor, very intelligent and charismatic.

Luis was an excellent husband, father, brother, son, friend, and brother in Christ.

His hobbies were singing songs to God, playing the congas (music) praising God, playing with the dogs, going to the ocean and reading the Bible. He always was fixing and taking care of the house.

Luis dedicated his life to God. In his church he was Leader of the Committee on Evangelism and
distributed many brochures in Savannah during the weekends. He preached several times in his church
and always encouraged and gave advice to the entire congregation. He loved to give biblical studies
to his family.

His mission was always to love his neighbor and thank God that his last years he was able to devote himself full time to it. Luis leaves us with the
example of believing in the word that Jesus speaks to us as Church in Matthew 5:14 “Ye are the light of the world…” And in John 8:12 “…Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”.

Luis and I formed a friendship at Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Brunswick, Me. He was my brother and I know he lives on. Still, this is a little distressing as he was so young. I’m praying God’s Comfort for his family and anticipating the day we all reunite in Christ. Peace and Love my friend, my brother.
