Marie Leah Reeve, 82, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 of pneumonia. She was the daughter of the late Leah and Cecil Flynn and grew up in Waldwick, New Jersey, where she met her husband Robert Reeve. They were married for 48 years when he died in 2003.
She and Bob loved being near the water and sailing, especially on New York’s Great Sacandaga Lake, where they owned a vacation home. They lived in Greenwood Lake, New York and Jefferson, New York before retiring in Punta Gorda, Florida. Marie loved cooking and was an affable host. She was known for being a jokester and often played endearing practical jokes on her friends and family. She was always active, enjoying downhill, cross-country, and water-skiing in her younger years, and walking and biking as she got older.
Her friend and companion for the last several years, John Andresen, shared her love of boating, travel and dancing, and the two of them made many happy memories together. More than anything, Marie loved being with her family, including her three children Kathy (Jeff) Miller, of Savannah, Georgia; Bob (Ruth) Reeve of Harpersfield, New York; and Carolyn (Matthew) Ellicott of Pataskala, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in July.
