Marjorie Brinson Brewton, 88, passed away Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at Insignia Senior Care.
A native of Swainsboro, she was the daughter of Talmadge Brinson and Ella Hall Brinson. Marjorie lived in Garden City since grade school. She was a Registered Nurse, having received her RN from Georgia Baptist, and had retired after over thirty years at Candler Hospital. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Garden City.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Glenn Brewton and her mom & dad and two sisters, Jackie McTeer and T’Lene Anderer, she is survived by a son, John Brewton (Beth) of Buford, Georgia; daughter, Carol Elkins (Michael) of Guyton; step-son, Glenn Brewton, Jr. (Callie) of Bloomingdale; step-daughter, Janice Denning of Louisiana; three grandsons, Tyler Brewton of Buford, Georgia, Dion Ratner of Rincon, & Aaron Ratner of Rincon and granddaughters, Erica Panter of Lexington, South Carolina, Jennie Walsh, Jessica Hoops, Diana and Donna Denning of Louisiana.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Insignia Senior Living of Savannah for the excellent care and embracing her as family, Suncrest Home Health for giving her quality of life and Pruitt Hospice for giving her last days respect and dignity.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Garden City Chapel of Baker-McCullough Funeral Home, 2794 US Highway 80, West. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 1:30 PM from First Baptist Church of Garden City, 35 Nelson Avenue, Garden City with Bill NeSmith and Larry Speir officiating. Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park – East, Savannah.

Leon and I are so sorry to hear about the passing your beautiful Mother. I’ll never forget Mrs Margie as my teacher at church…we always loved her.
May God give you the strength to carry you through the upcoming difficult days.

John, Carol, and family, thinking of all of you at this sad time in the life of your family. Your Mother was a very special lady who had a way of handling life with a smile no matter what craziness was going on around her. We all know with our family there was always something crazy going on. She was our rock and ballast and will be greatly missed.

Carol and Michael and family. Our prayers are with you during this mixed time of loss and rejoicing. Loss because so many people feel the loss of sweet Miss Margie and Rejoicing because we know where she is now. She lived a life that honored God, Jesus Christ and the identity of a Christian. She was a model for us all.
Missing you, missing her – knowing the Lord is showing her around heaven and you know Carol, your dad is surely so blessed to be showing her around too. 🙂
