Mary Frances Hutcheson, lovingly known as Frances, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 83. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, Frances lived a life rooted in love, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
Born on August 2, 1941, in Soperton, Georgia, Frances grew up with strong values and a warm heart that would go on to touch the lives of everyone she met. She married the love of her life, Franklin G. Hutcheson, Sr., and together they shared over 63 beautiful years of marriage. Their bond was unbreakable, and in a testament to their enduring love, Franklin preceded her in death by just ten days.
Frances was the heart of her family, a nurturing and loving presence who always put others before herself. She is survived by her son, Fredric Joseph Hutcheson; her daughter, April Francine Hutcheson Jones; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Sue Hutcheson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvard Eugene Stewart and Bertha Stewart; her beloved son, Franklin Gentry Hutcheson, Jr.; her sisters, Sarah Cross and Billy Knight; and her brother, Gene Stewart.
She also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Gentry Hutcheson, Christy Hutcheson, Halie Hutcheson, Lucy Hutcheson, and Henry Hutcheson, as well as her three adored great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
Frances will be remembered as the warmest, most devoted, and loving woman—a constant source of comfort, wisdom, and kindness. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and generous heart touched everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Whether offering a listening ear, a heartfelt prayer, or a welcoming hug, Frances made everyone feel at home. Her love lives on in the countless memories shared by her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, the light she brought into the world will continue to shine through those who loved her.
She was truly a blessing, and she will be missed beyond measure.
