Mary Helen Griner White, 90, of Savannah who was lovingly known as Mommie, GranMommie and GreatMommie departed for her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 22, 2021, under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mary retired as Credit Manager from J. C. Penney after which she owned her own catering service and did home care for the elderly. A longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Savannah, she was a Sunday School teacher and very active in the Silver Nuggets. She dearly loved her family. She will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by a son, Ernest B. Colson, III, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister, Martha Allen of Savannah; daughter, Cheryl Hull (Eric) of Savannah; daughter, Nancy Jobe of Brunswick; son, Danny Colson (Cindy) of Savannah; daughter, Crystal Noriega Taylor of Zephyr Hills, Florida; daughter-in-law, Diane Colson of Redding, California; eleven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Families First Funeral Care. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Brooks Cail, First Baptist Church of the Islands officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Hospice Savannah.
