Michele T. Holcomb, 80, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away in the early morning hours at Candler Hospital on November 30, 2024.
Michele was born on November 23, 1944, in Beaver, Utah, to parents Lois Patterson Tolton and Grant Mitchell Tolton.
She attended Sammamish High School in Bellevue, WA, and then went on to study at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA—where she would begin her family. She moved to Atlanta, GA, and later decided to retire in Savannah.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.
She was diagnosed with Crohn’s in her forties and luckily went into remission about a year after her diagnosis. Michele lived a life that was full of doing the things she loved,
like reading, traveling, sailing, and spending time with her friends and family. Unfortunately, her Crohn’s flared up again in 2023. Her death was very unexpected, and
we are all mourning the loss of such an amazing woman. To know her was to love her.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Holcomb; her two children, Jeff Bumgardner (his wife, Julie) and Lisa Davidenko; her brother, John Tolton (his wife, Kristen); her stepdaughter, Melanie Holcomb (her husband, Doug Shapiro); her grandchildren, Alexa, Jordyn, Alek, and Jenna; and her step-grandchildren, Amelia, Sophie, and Ida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois Patterson Tolton and Grant Mitchell Tolton.
Her wishes were for a small ceremony to be held for her family to celebrate her life. If you have any pictures or memories of her that you would like to share, please do so. She will be remembered as the vivacious and beautiful person that she was.
