Nakia Rochell Scriven passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2022.
Nakia was born on November 1, 1974 to Tonya and Theodore Sr, in Savannah, Ga. She attended the public schools of Chatham County and was a 1993 graduate of Savannah High School. Nakia continued her education at Savannah Technical College and was recently a student at South University, majoring in Psychology where she proudly and effortlessly made the Chancellor’s and Dean’s List.
As a child Nakia was a member of Calvary Temple Holiness Church under the direction of the late Pastor Maurice Rouche’. She continuously displayed her faith in God, no matter her circumstances and we are grateful that he allowed 47 years of life with her. Nakia was a very unique person who loved her family and cared for anyone around her. She was the “fixer upper” and she will be deeply missed by everyone around her.
Nakia leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories her son, Waheed T. Scriven, her daughter, Wakia T. Wright both of Savannah, Ga; a grandson Master Devontay A.J. Scriven; a granddaughter Sequoia Ariana who she was anxiously anticipating the arrival; parents, Tonya Morgan(Frank), Theodore Scriven Sr(the late Savata Ray Scriven) of Savannah, Ga; two sisters, Teresa Scriven and Stephanie Scriven of Savannah, Ga; one brother, Theodore Scriven Jr of Savannah, Ga; nephews Dexter Jr, Terez, Jammen, Theodore III, Kenasi, Makhi, Jordan and Mari; nieces Corrina-Skye and Nova; Uncles Johnnie Jackson, Bobby Mitchell; Aunts, Zelma Fripp, Laverne Mitchell, Betty Scriven and Francina Scriven; special cousins Maria Gillette, Solomon Jackson, Michael Stokes and Donavan Mikel; close friends, Clara Sims, Jamie Pryor and Kamala Oruamabo; a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Families First Funeral Care. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM.
